DARREN C. ONG
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS
XIAMEN UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA
Hello, my name is Darren C. Ong (Darren Ong Chung Lee, or 王忠理), and here is my CV, and here is a list of my papers. I am an associate professor of mathematics at Xiamen University Malaysia and Xiamen University Shenzhen Research Institute. My main research interests are spectral theory and mathematical physics, with a current focus on studying Schrödinger, Jacobi and CMV operators. I received my PhD from Rice University under David Damanik, and I was a postdoc at the University of Oklahoma.
I am the Principal Investigator of a grant funded by the Malaysian Ministry of Education's Fundamental Research Grant Scheme, titled "Spreading rates of quantum random walks in an almost periodic environment, with potential applications in quantum computing" with grant number FRGS/1/2018/STG06/XMU/02/1
I am a member of the editorial board of the Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society and the author of a children's book, The Trampolines that Nadia Built, published by Epigram Books.
I am also interested in art that uses mathematical ideas like aperiodic order in an interesting way. Click here to see a selection of my art.
